- Therefore Rome was ran by a Republic.
- Rome's republic consisted on two groups, The patricians & The plebeians
- The patricians were landowners who were wealthy and of course they would be the people with the most power
- The plebeians were just farmers , artisans, and the merchants
- Rome's laws were then carved in to twelve tables.
- The Consuls in Rome commanded the army and had the power to direct the government
- Whenever Rome came to a crisis the Republic had the power to assign an dictator.
- Rome also had an great army/military at this time
- if you owned land at this time in Rome you were required to serve in the army
- Rome had their soldiers organized in such military units since their army consisted of 5,000 soldiers
- with a great army and rising government Rome was on its way to the top
